How to use HTML codes in Comments

I discovered something... Yeeeeah!I did.
I don't usually discover things, so this is a big deal.
OK, I didn't actually discover it but I think it is still worth mentioning.
I've found out that in the blogging world, sharing is power.
If you find a solution to a problem, it is nice to share it with others since there might be other people looking for the same solutions.
Without further ado, I present to you my first tutorial

How to use HTML code to leave your blog link in the comments section.....

When I first started blogging, I was so afraid of HTML. I thought it was something huge and complicated that should only be left to experts. Well, I still do but I sometimes become the expert and tamper with make little tweaks to these codes.
Moving on, have you ever tried to use HTML when leaving comments on blogs??And just so you know, I do love comments. Who doesn't?
Have you ever wondered how you could leave a link to your blog on the comment form??This can be easily done with HTML web codes or simply HTML comment codes. I will show you how to do this.

1. First, you go to the comment form of the blog post you want to comment on. You add your comment, then use the following code.
2.
3. From here, replace the red text with your blog's URL/link. This can be found at the web address bar when you are at the home page.
4. Next, replace the green text with the name of your blog. For example, if I was leaving a link to my blog, I would replace the green text with Millie's Little Palace.
5. Make sure all the quotation marks are correctly placed. Also ensure that you use these <> very carefully since a code that is not closed will not work.
6. Lastly, publish your comment.

Am going to give you an example right here, right now. If I was leaving a comment on this tutorial I would do the following

The blog name will appear with a link back to your blog.
And that's it.
Try it in the comment form below and leave me a link to your blog. I will come visit...Promise.
Have a great Tuesday.

Crazy Weekend Update

Lets see where this goes...
Have you ever felt like you were going crazy?? Yeah, me too.
I felt like that most of last week and most of the weekend too...
Anyway, I spent way too much of my weekend working, no wonder I feel like am going crazy
I took up a challenge on Friday for a certain client and promised him I would be through with his work by Saturday evening.
Oh yes I did accomplish the task but...........I was extremely tired
Am still tired.
I did not even get time to idle with my brother who came to visit on Saturday
Anyway, through God's grace I made it through and am trusting on the same grace to get through this week
Sunday, I did some laundry, went to the salon and just had enough time to catch up with How I met your Mother and Grey's Anatomy (new seasons).
By the way, am in the market for new addictive shows to obsess over.... Any suggestions???
By the way I've been telling myself this weekend that things will be ok and I do really hope that they will.
Oh, and lastly, am happy because my sister got a job but am also sad coz she has to move away from me..I was getting used to having her around.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and wish you a fabulous week.

Trending Monotones

Do I think its kind of crazy to wear one color from top to bottom?? Yes....
Do I completely love it??? Yes
Its pretty weird how many trends keep coming up each day. Its also amazing how much creativity there exists in this world yet we sometimes choose to just stick to one thing.
I usually wear different shades of black or grey but today I chose something a little brighter.
I love the subtlety of this outfit and I would totally wear it. Moreover, the bags break the monotony.
Have a fabulous Friday and weekend ahead!

New Hobbies: Crocheting

I think am going crazy. I have these ideas floating in my head that I never get to implement.
There are things that I like doing or at-least think I like but never get to do them.
I don't know why but the start of something is usually a hassle for me.
I find it hard to start something. I might want it so bad but unless I push myself or someone else pushes me, I might never start.
So, here I am with a new idea. Something that I have always admired from afar, especially from other bloggers. Crocheting. Is it weird that I think it is awesome. I mean you can crochet a whole dress or some cutesy little things......aaaaawwww. This idea made me realize that am totally like my mother...she used to crochet and knit things, a whole lot of beautiful things. I even have a sweater that she knitted for me long ago and I still wear it (She thought I would grow tall!lol!)
I think people who crochet or those who DIY in general are awesome. And, I really want to join this awesome crew. I hope I can do it.
I don't even know where I can buy a crochet in this town let alone yarn. But, I promise I will find out and watch some tutorials and eventually start.......
Any tips?????Please help where you can. Any and all advice on starting DIY projects will be highly appreciated.
On that note, let us enjoy some of the crochet pins I have been pinning obsessively...

And last but not least

Pure awesomeness!!Now lets see if I can do this....

Am having Teenage Problems + some Kikuyu Culture

We need to get something straight before we even start this post....am 25. Right?
Did we get that right?? In fact, I consider myself quite mature and progressive about life but am kinda having some teenage problems. But first, the weekend update...
So, this weekend was pretty fun and pretty busy but also pretty nice.
Lets just say it was pretty.
As a matter of fact, it started on Friday evening.
Hubz cousin 9my cousin in law was having her dowry ceremony ('uthoni' in Kikuyu culture) on Saturday and I had to be there for her.
So, I packed my bags and went to her house on Friday evening.
Saturday was a beehive of activity. Lots of cooking and cleaning as we expected more than 100 guests.
It was a fun day really.
For those who don't understand, let me just break it down for you a little.
[In the Kikuyu culture, actually in most African cultures, when a girl finds a husband or decides to get married/cohabit, her b/f/fiancee must go to her parents home together with his parents to officially meet her side of the family. If the girl is already living the boyfriend or is pregnant, there is also a discussion about that. In addition to that, there is dowry given to the girl's family as agreed by the two families. There is also fun, lots of eating and partying.]
Hope that helps. Moving on to my teenage problems...
You know how I have said many times on this blog that am tiny??? My problems are related to that.
Am short, like 5'0'...is that too short??And am also kinda skinny, just kinda.
Anyway, some boys decided to confuse me with a high-school student and started hitting on me! Like seriously??
And I don't mean, 'boys' in a nice way, like really young teenage boys.....
It sometimes drives me crazy but it is also a source of laughter between me and hubz. He thinks its hilarious since some of them even approach him asking for help on how they can get me. Shock on them.
Anyway, just asking, what do you do in such a situation??
Flirt with the boy and give him crazy signs while laughing it off with hubby OR tell him off outright and make it clear that you are a mature, married woman with no intentions of having a teenage boy toy???
Tell me people, I need help....   Or should I just eat myself fat and grow big so that people stop confusing me with schoolgirls?? Consider that I have already accepted the fact that I will never grow tall...
Dilemmas.....

Friday Fancies : Crushes

I always fall in love with outfits that I could wear in real life.Like this one, totally awesome and totally wearable [oh, except the six inch heel] but I could try.
The simplicity in this outfit makes me comfortable. I know am trying to get out of the comfort zone with clothes but I couldn't help it.
So lets see my recreation.....
I love the bag on the left and I totally want it like right now...
Anyway, enjoy your Friday and make it count!

How do you wear Skirts???

Yeeeaaaah! Its Thursday, just one more day and we can say We Made It!!!
Another week down, that's a real blessing don't you think???
That's right.
As I've said a ton of times on this blog, I do really think I need fashion help.
Jeans and t-shirts ain't cutting it!!Especially in a world where fashion is the in-thing..
I might just be the lost one here but I sure do hope there are others like me...

Anyway, in my attempt to cut myself from my self-created fashion rut, I have been thinking about adding some skirts to my closet. I have some but I rarely wear them so once I buy some more, I hope to take it to the next level and actually wear them..
I once wore a skirt suit and my hubby's friend asked me why I was stealing my sister's clothing..He even pointed out that he can only talk seriously to me if am back to my jeans routine.
Insert very sad face here.....
I digress, my main point here was, am trying to be more fashionable, or more specifically fantasizing about it.
Anyway, here are some of my latest skirt finds and I do hope they make their way to my closet while am asleep and then I can begin the process of thinking how I will wear them
Skirt Fever

The ones in the first row are called skater skirts (which I didn't know). By the way, am always surprised by these names. Where do they come from??Who names skirts?? I'll stop there since it is getting kinda weird.
Anyway, I love all these skirts. The colors=awesome.
If I wore that maxi skirt, I would totally look weird rock it, coz am a wee bit tiny.
Have yourselves a pretty awesome Thursday!

Sparkly Wednesday

This week is crazy. Lots of work but am not complaining. This is what I was asking for and definitely getting it.
And to keep me from going crazy, Pinterest provides an avenue to release all that tension. These pins don't have any kind of theme but they are definitely making me happy.
I wonna go here right now. It looks perfect.
Yum
Just take me and hubz here... we will never come back
What more can a girl say???
