Today is the first day of the Scintilla Project which am proudly part of. It is a fortnight of sharing stories where different writers get to write a post everyday, choosing from two prompts. Today, its all about definitions and this is the post where I attempt to define who I am.
First and foremost, I am a Human being
There are billions of people in this universe. Maybe, there are even others in the outer planets that we do not even have an idea exist. However, in this corner of the earth, specifically the Eastern Africa part lies a country. Kenya. Here, there are 38 million people and amongst those, there is me. A 24 year old human being, breathing, living: just like the rest of you. Before, I can define myself through any other means, I must say that I am a human being and I am proud to be one.
Second, I am a woman
Oh, the beauty of life, the mother of the creative source, the laughter, the smiles, the WOMAN. She is a wonderful creature, God definitely took his time in creating us. I am a woman, a beautiful woman at that. I love deeply, I have maternal instincts, I love pretty things, I love being a woman. It is so much fun. I love being pampered, I love being taken care of, I love being loved, because as much as I am any woman, I am a QUEEN.
Third, I am a Friend, a Lover, I am ME.
I am blessed, more than I have ever imagined. I have a family that I love. I have friends that I love. I have been in romantic relationships and loved it. I am capable of loving. I have a heart that is so light, yet carries love in the most amazing ways. I love the way my heart holds other people close. I love that I have feelings. I have a soul, that represents my spirituality. I believe in something and I am happy I do.
Above all these things, I am me; MILLIE.
This is the Scintilla Project day one and I can only hope it gets better.
